Frequently Asked Questions

Printer-friendly version

Hello All!

First I want to thank the many organizational members, coaches, parents, and the players themselves for providing a number of suggestions for the new site design and functionality. You are all TERRIFIC, and I encourage you to continue to provide me with your thoughts—each of you have helped to create the site we have today. We understand that the BAYS web site is rich with content and at times can seem overwhelming to digest. Here we would like to provide you with some guidance on some frequently asked questions that we've received. If you don't find what you are looking for we encourage you to contact us with any questions you might have with the site.

Where is my Map Link?

In almost every listing (by section, by team) you will find that the playing field is listed, and highlighted in blue. The blue indicates it's a hyperlink. Click on the link and you are instantly brought to a page that provides the playing field address and nodes from the organization's president or registrar so you can find the field once you arrive at its location.

When is my Game Time?

If you've spent anytime on the site, you realize there are MANY places to find a schedule. In most cases we've provided a column that includes Scheduled Game Time. Historically we only provided the Special Game Time information, as the majority of the BAYS community understood that without a listing, the game is schedule based upon Standard Game Times. Now that we provide Referee Assignment each game has a UNIQUE game time.

Final Note: It is always a good idea for opposing coaches to contact each other to validate game time and location. Parents, we encourage you to contact your team's coach for verification if you are unsure of any details.

How can I Find My Schedule?

With the new Web site, we've introduced a number of new formats for the schedule, and I would suspect that over time, each of you will have your own preference. But, for the sake of clarity I would like to share my own recommendations, based upon your role.

Organizational Member (Field Scheduler/Referee Assignor):

Home Town Games - by town

In these cases you most frequently need to see your organization's requirements in a block, by week. In this case I would select Home Town Games, and complete the responding form for your town.

Parent & Player

We hope that in the new design this group will benefit you the most.

Standings by Town (Parent with children on multiple teams)

For the parent who has multiple children on a variety of teams, I would recommend starting with Teams by Town. You can view the quick list of all teams within your town.

By clicking on one of the Gender/Age Division-Section links you are quickly brought to that Section's overview. You are provided with Section Leadership, Section Information (including links to playing fields), the entire Season's schedule for that Section and all team details can be found by clicking on an individual team.

Official Standings (Player)

As a player, you want to quickly know how your teams is doing. By selecting your Gender, Age, Division and Section, you are quickly presented with your Section's Standings. Click on the Section Title (right next to the Click Here for Section Detail) and you will be able to view even more detail, including the Season Schedule.
