MTOC is an acronym for Massachusetts Tournament of Champions.  It is an end of the season championship for all the town based leagues in Massachusetts of which BAYS is one of the ten.  See below for the time line and detailed information.  The pdf links are the specifications, approved by the BAYS Competition Committee as to what teams make the playoffs and how the BAYS representatives are determined.  The Playoff Committee, chaired by the BAYS second VP will determine the specific dates and venues for the playoffs.  Look here for the playoff information as it is determined.

Timeline

February 2012 - Wildcard draw and dates of MTOC tournament released

       BAYS has its guaranteed slots in both Boys and Girls, U-12 Div 1, U-12 Div 2, U-14 Div 1, U-14 Div 2, U-16 Div 1, U-16 Div 2, U-18 Div 1, U-19 div 1.  Wildcard information will be posted when available

March 2012 - BAYS Competition Committee places the teams and determines the format of the playoffs for U-12 & U-14

April 2012 - HS - U-16, U-18 and U-19 structure and playoff format established

May 2012 - playoff grid including dates established

May 30, 2012 (Wednesday) Roster Freeze Date for MTOC rosters.  Last day to file a roster for MTOC eligible teams.  Last day for High School age teams with oversized rosters to file an MTOC only roster with a maximum of 18.

June 2012 BAYS Playoffs begin the week of June 11 (tentative)

June 2012 MTOC.  Group phase is Friday June 22 and Saturday June 23.  Semi-Final and Final matches on Sunday June 24  All games at the State Fields at Progin Park in Lancaster Ma.

GU-12 Div 1 - Top 2 teams in each of the two sections - 4 seeds total

GU-12 Div 2 - Winner and runner up from 2A, winner from other sections - 8 seeds total

BU-12 Div 1 -  Top 2 teams in section - 2 seeds total

BU-12 Div 2 - Winner from A1, A2, wild card from either A1 or A2, winner of other sections - 8 seeds total

GU-14 Div 1 - Top 2 teams in each of the two sections - 4 seeds total

Note GU-14 div 1 has wildcard so two of the four seeds will head to MTOC

GU-14 Div 2 - Winner and runner up from 2A, winner from other sections - 8 seeds total

BU-14 Div 1 - Top 2 teams in each of the two sections - 4 seeds total

BU-14 Div 2 - Winner and runner up from Sec A and B, Winner of C1, C2, D & E - 8 seeds total

GU-16 Div 1 - Winner of section goes to MTOC (unless ineligible due to .500 rule) - 2 teams declared for D1

GU-16 Div 2 - Winner of section goes to MTOC and possibly runner up if no D1 eligible (6 teams declared for D2)

BU-16 Div 1 - Winner of section goes to MTOC (unless ineligible due to .500 rule) - 1 team declared for D1

BU-16 Div 2 - Winner of section A2 and B go to playoffs - possible second place if no D1 eligible.

GU-18 - TBD - Three slots available

BU-18 - Four slots available - 4 teams from each section to playoffs.  In 1A only 2 U-19 teams may enter the playoffs
